So I thought I was complaining on Sunday!

You should have seen the storms we had sweep over the valley yesterday! We walked into the grocery store in Providence at about 1 pm. When we tried to walk out at about 1:45, we were witnessing a white out! Then, 15 minutes later as we left the parking lot to run a couple errands, the snow was gone. Literally! We pulled over for a moment to try and take a picture as soon as we were clear of the traffic, and all we could find were snow-plastered trees but no falling snow. Crazier yet, the snow started falling again within 30 minutes, another almost-white-out, and within about 45 minutes the sky was blue, the sun was shining, and everything glowed. We ended up going through this about 3 more times before the skies settled to a sullen grey and then all went dark for the night. Welcome to spring in Logan, Utah!

On a more familial note:

Kieran had his first eval today from the 1-3 group. End results so far are as follows:

Gross Motor Skills he's at about 9 months
Fine Motor Skills he's at about 12 months (right on the head!)
Cognitive Skills are about 11-12 months (getting there!)
Language Skills are down at 10 months
Self-help Skills are at 14 months (In other words, we're in trouble when he turns 2 and starts to demand and throw temper tantrums as he knew exactly what he wants!)
Social-Emotional Skills are a glowing 18 months

So we'll be having a few specialists out to do more in depth evals over the next month or so. Though to be honest, I'm kind of relieved as this will tell us what we can do to help him catch up before he really is dangerously behind in anything. Plus I've been told a number of times that at least one of the experts will be able to specifically help us to get him to sleep through the night (Hallelujah!!!) I'd started to wonder if I was ever going to sleep again...

The other two kids are doing great. Tia is already in count-down mode from summer break to start, though I don't think she'll realize how much she is going to miss school until it is too late. But I found a way to keep her attending at the same elementary even after we move, so at least she'll still be with her friends and hopefully her cousins. Caelen would be counting down 'til summer, if he only could. He's soo excited about Tia being home with him all the time!!! Finally, someone he can wrestle around with! I feel bad for the neighbors who live downstairs. But at least by then the weather will be warm and clear so we'll be outside more...I hope. Thankfully they are incredibly patient, in spite of doubts as to whether their ceiling will stay above their heads after yet one more jumping attack of 3 year old joy.

Oh, if anyone wants to put up with Rachel's midnight/mid-day muse moments, I started another blog (that way John has a way of updating things on this sight and I can sound off on the other). You'll find it under www.momsmumblings.blogspot.com Feel free to leave comments or suggestions as you like! You know me, I love to hear from everyone!
